The remission of sins is a central tenet of Christian faith, representing God’s forgivness and the washing away of our sinns through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Today we will look at 3 profound truths.

#1. The necessity-

sin is universal everone is quilty and fall short of God’s standard.

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Sin creates a barrier between man and God, left unchecked will lead to spiritual death.

Habakkuk 1:13 13 Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?

A. God’s Holiness demands seperation from sin.

God’s standard for His people is Holiness, reflecting llHis own Nature.

Divine Justice : Romans 6:23 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Justice demands a penalty for sin.

Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

#2. The Provision for the remission of sins.

Hebrews 9:22 22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

1 Peter 2:24 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Matthew 26:28 28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

#3. The results of remission of sins

Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

New Identity

2 cor. 5.17 If any man be In Christ he is a new creation.

Free from condemnation and quilt

1 John 5:11-12 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
